Pipes 1, 2 and 3 (Houston, Texas)
These images are all of a set of Pipe segments that were stackedĀ  on the San Jacinto Street bridge in downtown Houston. I saw them while driving by one day and quickly took some straight on photos, but those showed the concrete balustrades of the bridge behind them. I knew that I would have go back and reshoot.

Pipes 1, 2, and 3

I wanted to get very low and aim upwards for the shots. There was only one small problem - it was on a busy street in the middle of downtown Houston. So I waited until Sunday morning to return.

Pipes 1, 2, and 3
That's when I discovered that Sunday was visiting time at the Prison facility just north of the bridge, so there was still traffic. Fortunately I could wait for the light to turn red at the intersection just south of the bridge and then run into the street, lie on my stomach, and click off about 3 shots before the light turned green.
Sometimes you have to really suffer for your art.

River Sculpture (Baton Rouge, Louisiana)

A really intriguing sculpture right on the west bank of the Mississippi River in downtown Baton Rouge. No sign of the famous Red Stick. At least not that I saw.
