Signs, Signs...Everywhere a sign. Most of the signs in this project have seen better days, but they may still have something to tell us. Extra credit if you can name the band that sang the hit song in the early 1970's.
Everything 98 Cents (Memphis, TN)
I was driving into Memphis on Highway 51 when I noticed an old Boeing Jet on the left side of the road. I took a few seconds to realize that this was the Lisa Marie and that Graceland was across the road on my right. This sign is less than a mile north of Graceland, inside a fence topped with concertina wire and containing what must have been a parking lot but with no building left standing. I have no idea what the King would make of this.
Income Tax (Houston, TX)
Everyone's favorite subject, beautifully rendered in stark black and white. Sometimes you have to stand in the street on a stepstool to get the shot. Fortunately, there wasn't a lot of traffic.
You Are Here (Houston, TX)
When I saw the arrow there without any other signage, it just struck me. So far I've resisted the temptation to Photoshop in a "You Are Here" medallion next to the arrow.
God Bless America (Houston, TX)
I only took the picture. You, dear viewer, are welcome to draw your own conclusions.

Cannabis (Jasper, Texas)

If you're going to do a sign, you might as well go big. No mistaking what's for sale here.

Miss Highway Patrol (Mississippi)
Evidently, the winner of the Miss Highway Patrol contest gets her own exit off the Interstate. Should Miss Highway Patrol not be able to complete her reign, her duties will be assumed by Miss Local Police
